Wow, it's (STILL) been a whirlwind of a time these last few months. My apologies for not doing my monthly update, I have every intention on doing it but something always comes up! We have so many updates and so many fun things to share with you all, so saddle up for a fair amount of reading ( it's worth it I promise)!
The Event Season in a Nutshell
The clue being in the title of the business, Eventing is my passion. Eventing is why I do what I do and I want to be the best that I can be. With that being said....
Dolly has taken a step back from eventing as we feel she doesnt LOVE it as much as originally thought! She has however been pure showjumping and is absolutely class! Clear and placed in her first 1.15 and 1.20cm classes. She is for sale as a Showjumper as we feel that's where she will excel and show all her talent and what she has to offer in the ring (which is a lot!)

Despite a disappointing summer of hard ground and withdrawals due to the extreme weather, Dan has stepped up and delivered at the events we did make it to, and we just completed our first 3* competition together- he was ACE! A hugely exciting milestone for both of us. We're looking forward to seeing what he can achieve as he takes the next step up the levels. We are heading potentially over the channel for his next event, so watch this space for updates.

And the exciting announcement which I am sure you are all already aware of, but we did go horse shopping and we now have the lovely Tina who joined us about a month and a half ago! She is a lovely mare, who oozes talent and has also been super exciting at our first couple of runs together. We have an exciting Autumn ahead of us and you will see a lot more of her!

We got 5 STARS!!!!

One of the biggest moments of the summer was our riding school licence inspection and we are absolutely delighted to say that we officially received a 5-star rating!
It was a huge relief and a really proud moment for everyone involved.
There have been so many late nights, early starts and long days getting the Academy to this point, and we couldn’t have done it without the hard work of the whole team.
A massive thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way. Seeing all of that work recognised with five stars made it more than worth it!
The Foals Are Growing Up!

The foals are finally out in the field and absolutely loving life!
They’re growing up far too quickly and are both looking fantastic.
While it is lovely seeing them enjoying themselves out in the field, the yard definitely feels a little quieter without them pottering around and we’ll miss having them close by every day.
I'm sure all of you will miss greeting them on the way in for your lessons too but we can't wait to see them all grown up!
Fred Takes on Portsmouth City Centre!

Fred and Abby also did their bit for National Racehorse Week, heading into Portsmouth city centre to meet members of the public and help showcase just how brilliant former racehorses can be. It's an amazing week put on each year to see behind the scenes of horseracing, to answer all of your questions you might have about the sport. Abby's job is to make the initiative as big as possible, in her Marketing role at Great British Racing!
Fred was an absolute professional, taking the busy city centre completely in his stride and enjoying plenty of attention along the way. He even got to meet and do lots of content with Chris Hughes, which was a pretty good addition to his day!
It was such a lovely opportunity to get out into the community, talk to people about racehorses and their lives beyond racing, and of course show everyone what a star the lovely boy Fred is.
New Lesson Timetable
Heading into autumn, our lesson calendar has changed from September, so make sure you take a look at the new slots and get yourself booked in. The biggest change is the weekday lessons are starting earlier in the mornings and then there's extra group lessons in the evenings. We have additional Wednesday morning lessons and Maddi is also running Thursday Private Lessons! We do appreciate any feedback so if there is an idea you have or you're. inetrested in something in particular, wether its stable management, adult beginner groups etc. then please do email in!
The next few months always disappear very quickly, so if you know you want lessons in the run-up to Christmas, we’d recommend getting organised early.
And speaking of Christmas… our CW Gift Cards are now available again and make the perfect present for any horse-mad friend or family member. They went down an absolute treat last year, hugely popular! So, keep them in mind when the Christmas shopping starts!

Thank You
It's been another full-on but brilliant summer, full of incredible days and experiences, even out of the yard. As always, thank you to all of our riders, parents and supporters for being part of the CW family. Whether you're taking your very first lesson, heading out on a Sunday hack, competing at events or simply following along with the horses' adventures, we appreciate every single one of you.
We can't wait to see what the next few months brings and I promise to do more updates!
