Wow, it's been a whirlwind of a time these last few months. My apologies for not doing my monthly update but we're back on track and ready to continue. So many updates and so many fun things to share with you all!
The Eventing Update
I absolutely love going eventing, I live for it! The competition horses have been keeping us busy, and we're looking forward to what the rest of the season brings.
Dolly has had a few moments recently that have kept us on our toes, but we're working through them. As anyone involved with horses knows, they're never short of teaching us new lessons!
Dan has stepped up to Intermediate level and felt like a total pro, which is a hugely exciting milestone for both horse and rider. We're looking forward to seeing what he can achieve as he takes the next step up the levels.
As our competition team continues to grow, we're also on the lookout for another horse to join the team. It's always exciting to go horse shopping, and we can't wait to see what the future holds.

Investing in Our Team
At CW, we're passionate about continuing education and ensuring our riders are always learning from knowledgeable, qualified and well equipped staff and instructors.
Recently, all of our team members completed their Ride Safe and First Aid training, helping to ensure we continue to provide a safe and professional environment for every rider who visits the yard.
We're also incredibly proud of Maddi, who has successfully passed her BHS Stage 2 Care, Riding and Lunging qualifications. This is a fantastic achievement. Qualifications like these not only strengthen knowledge but also give clients confidence that they're learning from staff who are continually investing in their education and development. Well done, Maddi!

Baby Boom

We've welcomed two very special new arrivals this spring, which I'm sure all of you are very much aware of... haha.. Sybil gave birth to a beautiful filly, Dottie, while Mindy welcomed a handsome colt, King.
King decided to arrive slightly ahead of schedule and certainly kept us all on our toes during those first few days. Thankfully, he's now thriving, happy and healthy, and enjoying life in the sunshine.
Dottie, meanwhile, is already proving she's full of personality. She's a real little sass queen with plenty of confidence and character. While she might keep us busy in the years ahead, it's exactly that spark and attitude that often makes exceptional competition horses.
She's already showing us what she's made of and has even been spotted happily jumping the log in the field. I think she's going to be a very exciting young horse to watch develop.
Riding School News

One of the most rewarding parts of running the academy is watching our riders progress, and we couldn't be prouder of everyone at the moment.
From complete beginners finding their confidence to more experienced riders achieving personal goals, the improvements across the board have been incredible. The atmosphere around the yard is fantastic, and it's wonderful to see so many riders supporting and encouraging one another.
To help riders gain even more experience, we're introducing Sunday Group Hacks.
These sessions are designed to help riders build confidence riding outside of the arena while enjoying our beautiful local hacking routes through the surrounding woods and tracks.
We currently have:
10:00am Group Hack
11:15am Group Hack
Groups are limited to just three riders, allowing everyone to receive plenty of support while enjoying a relaxed and enjoyable ride.
Places are already proving popular, so be sure to get your bookings in. Please do note that these hacks are for those who are competent in walk and trot off the lead rein, as a member of staff will not be on foot, but will be escorting the ride froim another horse. If you're not so confident or off the lead rein, we have private hacks on a Friday morning and we also have lead rein hacks at 2pm every Saturday.
Alongside the Sunday hacks, we've also added some Private Lesson slots every Thursday morning, as I know there's a huge demand in those wanting private tuition. So, go ahead and book if you are free at 10am, 11am or 12pm on a Thursday!
Our Riders Out Competing
It's been fantastic to see so many of our riders getting out and about competing recently.
Abby and Fred have been on flying form, winning two of their last three showjumping competitions. Fred is really leaving his racehorse ways behind him as the partnership continues to go from strength to strength.

Florence and George have also had a brilliant run of results, collecting multiple placings throughout the season. One of their biggest achievements was completing Florence's very first One Day Event, where they finished in an impressive 6th place in the 90cm.
Meanwhile, Maddi and Bart continue to develop a fantastic partnership. Having only been together since mid-January, they've already achieved a double clear at their first One Day Event together and the Showjumping is coming on in leaps and bounds. Bart is certainly not the easiest but Maddi does a great job and they will achieve great things together (they already are!!) That's a huge achievement and a brilliant indication of what could be to come as they continue to gain experience together.

Bella is now the official owner of Betty which is awesome news. She will provide Bella with a huge amount of confidence, enjoyment and knowledge! We're really excited to see another homebred out with a new person enjoying life. She's staying on the yard though so you'll all still get to say hey over the stable door.
Thank You
As always, thank you to all of our riders, parents and supporters for being part of the CW family.
Whether you're taking your very first lesson, heading out on a Sunday hack, competing at events or simply following along with the horses' adventures, we appreciate every single one of you.
We can't wait to see what the rest of 2026 brings and I promise to do more updates!
