As the new year unfolds, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the progress and achievements at CW Eventing Coaching Academy & Stud. January has been a busy and rewarding month, filled with exciting developments for both our clients and horses. This roundup highlights the key moments, updates, and plans that make this place truly special. A heartfelt thank you goes to all our clients whose support brings life and energy to the academy. Without them, none of this would be possible.

Gratitude to Our Clients and Horses
The foundation of CW Eventing Coaching Academy & Stud is built on strong relationships with our clients and the horses we care for. This month, we want to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who trusts us with their equestrian journey. Your commitment and enthusiasm create a vibrant community where learning and growth thrive.

Our horses are more than just athletes; they are partners in this journey. They have been thriving through the winter months, showing great happiness and willingness in their work. Seeing them content and motivated is a true sign that our methods and care routines are effective, and clients are learning well on them.
Winter can be a challenging season for horses, but we have ensured that all our horses remain in excellent condition. Regular turnout, balanced nutrition, and consistent training have contributed to their overall happiness!
Success of the Christmas Holiday Activity Days
The Christmas holiday activity days were a standout success. These sessions offered a fun and educational experience for riders of all levels, combining practical coaching with enjoyable activities. The positive feedback and high demand have led to all February activity days being fully booked.
Because of this enthusiasm, we plan to offer more activity days throughout the year. These events provide an excellent opportunity for riders to improve their skills both on and off the horse in a relaxed, supportive environment while enjoying the company of fellow equestrians.
Event Horses Update
Dan and Dolly, two of our key event horses, have stepped up their training as pre-season preparations are now in full swing. Both horses recently attended a clinic with Jo Rimmer at William Fox-Pitt's, which provided invaluable learning experiences.
The clinic focused on exercises that enhance balance, rhythm, and responsiveness. Dan and Dolly responded well and we have already started incorporating these exercises into their daily routines. This hands-on education is helping to build their confidence and improve their performance. Jo also touched on some improvements I can make in my riding to help with their training and my weekly PT sessions at Bayside Gym with Jake Griffiths are key to my success as a rider.

In addition to the clinic, Dan and Dolly have begun water treadmill sessions at Richenda Ford’s yard. These sessions are proving highly beneficial for engaging their hindquarters and core muscles. The water treadmill also allows us to observe their movement closely, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring they stay sound and fit.
Dan is a newer horse to me so we are dedicating extra time to build a strong partnership. Both dressage and jumping sessions focus on developing trust and understanding, which are essential for success in eventing.
Richard Dixon's 'Mouse' is continuing in his education and is responding well! He is only 4 years old and has a huge amount to learn but im really happy with the progress he's making. He is however extremely happy and fresh, resulting in an unplanned dismount or two.. Thank goodness for Birchwood Physiotherapy who click me back where are should be after the bumps of riding!

Homebred mare Casa Rialto (Rue) had her first experience Hunting this month with Abby as the pilot. She was absolutely foot-perfect and thoroughly enjoyed her time. She jumped rails, crossed streams in canter, stood completely still when required, and had horses infrontof her, beside her and up her backside! Not worried about the cascade of Horses and Hounds, the horns or the fact Abby spilt a glass of Port down her shoulder... A golden girl! She is for sale and would truly make a fabulous mother-daughter share, event horse, allrounder and hunter! Please get in touch if you or anyone you know is interested
Important Update on Cancellation Policy
To improve our scheduling and refund process, we are updating our cancellation policy. We ask all clients to cancel sessions via email rather than online booking systems. This change comes after numerous cancellations made online caused difficulties in managing refunds promptly.
By using email for cancellations, we can acknowledge your request quickly and process refunds on the spot and without delay. Please note that a cancellation fee will apply if sessions are cancelled through the online system (effective as on Sunday 25th January). This policy helps us maintain smooth operations and ensures fairness for all clients.
In Other News....
The momentum from January sets a strong tone for the months ahead. We will continue to expand our activity days, offer clinics, and provide personalised coaching to support every rider’s goals. Our horses will keep progressing through carefully planned training programs, preparing for competitions and new challenges.
Our head girl Maddi bought her first horse this month, Bart. A lovely gelding who we wish many happy years of success and fun together. Can't wait to see them grow together and be part of their journey. Maddi is a huge asset to the team and without her, there would be no CW Eventing Coaching Academy & Stud!

We are also looking to expand! We have an Apprenticeship opportunity available for someone to join the dream team and be part of a fanststic operation with a huge amount of variety. Eventing, Teaching, Riding and top class care for horses. A huge opportunity for someone! Please do get in touch if you're interested! We also are looking for freelance Grooms to help us on a flexible basis so if anyone is looking to pick up some additional work please message (this position is for experienced grooms only).
We encourage all clients to stay engaged, communicate openly about their needs, and take advantage of the resources available at CW Eventing Coaching Academy & Stud. Together, we can make 2026 a year of growth, achievement, and enjoyment in the world of equestrian!
